Modern luxury bathrooms are increasingly designed like architecture rather than decorated rooms. Instead of layering fixtures onto walls, the most refined interiors build the space around a central element.
The Nabatei collection by antoniolupi does exactly that, transforming the sink into a sculptural anchor carved from solid marble.
A Sink Inspired by Ancient Stone Architecture
Named after the Nabateans, the civilization that carved Petra into rock, the collection is defined by precise geometric cuts within thick stone blocks. Each basin is milled directly from marble slabs, creating integrated wash areas and storage surfaces within a single monolithic form.
Instead of placing a bowl onto a countertop, the countertop becomes the sink.
Thin edges and orthogonal lines give the pieces a contemporary Italian design language while preserving the natural character of the stone: veining, tonal shifts, and color variation remain unique in every installation.
The result feels closer to sculpture than plumbing fixture.
Designed for the Entire Bathroom Composition
Unlike conventional vanities, Nabatei creates a functional landscape across the top surface:
- basin carved into the stone
- integrated storage ledges
- space for faucets and accessories
- dry areas for daily objects
The layout resembles terraces or divided landforms, intentional zones rather than a single flat counter. This approach works especially well in high-end bathroom remodels where minimalism still needs usability.
The sinks can be paired with wall-hung or floor-standing cabinets to maintain visual lightness while providing practical storage.

Why Marble Works in Coastal Contemporary Homes
In Southern California interiors, the balance between minimalism and warmth is essential. Marble plays a unique role:
- adds organic variation to modern spaces
- reflects natural light
- complements wood cabinetry and neutral palettes
- pairs well with brushed metal fixtures
When combined with Gessi faucets, Poliform cabinetry, or Lualdi architectural doors, the bathroom becomes part of the overall interior architecture rather than a separate decorative room.

Experience the Materials in Person
Stone, especially marble, cannot be selected accurately from photographs. Veining scale, surface finish, and proportion become clear only in person. We invite homeowners, architects, and builders to visit our Italian furniture showroom in La Jolla to review finishes, plan layouts, and discuss projects.
