Ethimo: Italian Outdoor Furniture in La Jolla
We carry Ethimo at our La Jolla showroom and specify it for outdoor living projects throughout San Diego. Southern California is the perfect argument for taking outdoor furniture seriously, and Ethimo has been making the case for 40 years.

Why We Love Ethimo
Ethimo is an Italian brand that has focused exclusively on outdoor furniture for over 40 years. That specialization matters. They’ve spent decades perfecting the materials, testing what holds up in harsh environments, and collecting data on what actually lasts.
In La Jolla, we live with a lot of sun, salt air, and coastal conditions that are genuinely tough on outdoor furniture. Ethimo designs for exactly that. Their fabrics and materials are chosen specifically for performance in demanding climates, not just for how they look in a catalog.
What we also love is that Ethimo looks like interior furniture that happens to live outside. There’s no plastic, no cheap cushions, no generic resort aesthetic. It’s contemporary and modern, and it coordinates well with the rest of the brands we carry. When you have a Poliform kitchen inside and an Ethimo terrace outside, the home feels cohesive from end to end.
Poliform does offer some outdoor pieces, but Ethimo has been doing only this for 40 years. There’s a depth to their product knowledge that shows.

Products We Love Right Now

Baia Sofa
This is one of Ethimo’s most popular sectionals and our go-to recommendation for a serious outdoor living space. It has a metal base with comfortable cushions, so you get structural integrity and real comfort together. It’s heavy in the best way. It’s not going anywhere in the wind. Available in different sizes and configurations to maximize your seating area.

Rafael Table
Made from lava stone. They offer it in different colors but the turquoise is what gets me. Once it’s glazed, it looks almost like glass, with the raw lava stone texture peeking through at the edges. It almost replicates the ocean color. Available as both a dining table and a coffee table. A genuinely unique material that you won’t find in other outdoor brands.

Patio Chair
One of their newer chairs. The back is woven rope in a pattern, not just standard weave, but an actual decorative pattern. Available in natural teak (which will gray over time with sun exposure) or in a pre-weathered gray option so you know exactly what the final color will be. They also sell covers for all their furniture to protect and extend the life of the product.

Kilt Chair
A bestseller for good reason. Available in either teak or aluminum structure, so you can choose based on how much maintenance you want. It has a curved back that supports you well, a woven seat and back, and optional cushions. Extremely comfortable and versatile.

How We Use Ethimo in Projects
Most of our Ethimo work comes as part of full interior projects where we’re also handling the kitchen, closets, and interiors with Poliform and antoniolupi. The outdoor space is often the last thing clients think about, and the first thing they end up using every day in La Jolla. We pair Ethimo with Umbrosa for shade solutions to complete the outdoor room.
