The name comes from the Greek word for “appearances.” Plato used it to describe things that are real but fleeting, present but impossible to fully hold. It’s a fitting name for something made of glass.
BOMMA’s Phenomena collection is built around that contradiction. Glass is rigid but flexible, heavy but light, strong but fragile. Designer duo DECHEM Studio leaned into all of it.
How They’re Made
Each piece is mouth-blown by hand into custom wooden molds, a process that’s as demanding as it sounds. Clear and colored molten glass are blown together gradually, creating a color gradient that shifts as the glass cools. No two pieces land exactly the same way. The variation isn’t a flaw; it’s the whole point. Every light is a true original.
What You Can Choose From
The collection comes in four distinct shapes: large sphere, small sphere, capsule, and cone. Colors include flamingo pink, mint, Ferrari red, smoke, and clear — each paired with brushed gold or brushed silver metal fittings. It’s available as both pendants and floor lamps, which makes it flexible enough to anchor a living room, work above a dining table, or stand alone in a corner as a sculptural floor piece.
The range has shown up in a Miami penthouse, a family office in Prague, and at Salone del Mobile in Milan. It works in spaces that have a point of view.
